My story plot has just come alive...

Yes, according to this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-14780761 it has. Some people were in the water and then they disappeared... except the people were swimming in real life. And we don't have a president.

    Hey, that's awesome!
My story plot used to be similar to something that happened years ago, but it has changed a bunch since then. But that's as exciting as it gets for me...
And since my story is set in the future, I'm doubt I will ever see it coming alive Sad

Would you want it to come a live? That is the Question...

I was a bit freaked out when I read that story. I got my idea from a dream I had after watching the Jaws trailer. How did you get yours?

Good point actually. I should not be excited about that. I would be kind of horrified if my story actually came to life. Evidently my writing obsession is destroying my humanity... Twisted Evil

I saw reference to something on the internet. I won't tell you what the "something" is just yet. Again, another spoiler Very Happy

It will one day, if world leaders aren't careful...
In Egypt, people think the President is trying to get back into power. I think there've been numerous occasions where events in books really happened. One famous author (can't remember now) was writing a book in '99 about terrorists who hijacked a plane and crashed into skyscrapers. 2 years later... 9/11.

Oh, yeah I read somewhere that this author wrote a story about a large ship that hit an ice brick and sunk. Years later... Titanic.
But what is weird is the detail. The man described everything so well and so detailed years before it even happened. And everything was completely correct.

Wow, that's a bit scary. Shocked

Lizzie, do you remember the author’s name? Or the name of the book? I'd love to check that out. On a side note, I read an article about a similar thing once...Where songwriters predicted their own deaths in songs or something. OK, found it.

    Interesting.

Sweet and somewhat creepy. Could be just a coincidence , or terrorists get their ideas from books (talking about 9/11, obviously).

I hate how 9/11 (I hate the fact it even happened as well) made airport security so tight. They have to though. Obama's worried about nuclear terrorism - I bet he thinks they'll smuggle a nuke onto the plane.

I also hate it when we seem to have those random checks. They always seem to come to us because of what my mum wears on her head AND they introduced body scans which can see you naked. I just want to scream CHILD PORN!!!! Oh and I don't know how many times I'd have liked to sue Heathrow Airport for sexual assault during pat downs. I'm a kid! Would I really have a bomb on me or in my underwear?

Uh, I hate American airport security. I really do. Compared to Frankfurt or Heathrow security it really is awful. The rules are much stricter, it always takes 20 minutes to get through, I have to take off my shoes (which is a very slow process when you're wearing Doc Martens, believe me) and all sorts of crap I don't have to put up with anywhere else. Admittedly, I probably shouldn't have worn the Docs, but still.

Also, they're also not the least bit sympathetic to kids. My mom got stuck once in the New York airport with me and my brother, and we were both little kids. I was 5, my brother 2, and my dad wasn't with us. Anyway, I can't remember, she missed her flight or there was a snowstorm or whatnot, but New York airport did nothing to help. She had to wait almost the entire day with no help and she was with two tiny kids! However, last year when we got stuck in Frankfurt for 2 days, we saw this special little section, made exclusively for families with small children. Full of games and snacks and stuff to help pass the time, and people directing mothers to it. Mom didn't get anything like that in New York.

I guess America has to be really tough with security because for Terrorists, they're the main target.

What are Docs? I don't know anything about fashion apart from Jeans and the difference between a T-shirt and a Shirt.

It's terrible in the winter, travelling! They have to make you take all your clothes off - I mean all the jackets and jumpers and in between - then they pat you down and they make you take off your belt and anything with metal. It's OK in the summer because normally people only wear one layer. Travelling through Security is a bit like going through a strip club -.-

Yeah, I guess. Still, it gets on my nerves.

There's a shoe brand. Anyway, point is, they take a while to get in and out of. These are the ones I was wearing. http://www.dmusastore.com/p-1799-1490-womens.aspx

Hahahahahahahah, that is so true! Very Happy It is just like a strip club, you're completely right! Also, when traveling during the winter, there's always the chance of a snowstorm happening and getting stuck. Last time that happened, we were only stuck for 2 days, Thank God, but some people were there for a week.

Oh, I know those. Not really my thing, but I really like them.

Did the airport ever lose your luggage? Two months ago, when me and my mom were coming back from London, they lost about 20 suitcases (and a woman's rug XD ), including my moms. And the thing was HUGE. How do you miss an enormous suitcase?!

I thought they'd look something like that XD

When I went to Egypt at Xmas, there were massive snow storms. They were expected to hit London at 12.00 am exactly - we were frightened we'd get hit by the storm when our plane was delayed but we were relieved to have escaped the snow at 11.30, phew! XD When were you hit by that snowstorm? (Snow in Croatia? Wow. I've always thought it'd never snow in Italy (except in the Alps) and Croatia's just across from it...)

The full body scan should be called the 'instant stripping machine'. It actually scans your body and goes through your clothes. If you're standing on one end fully clothed, on the other end, it'll show up as if your naked (and the gun in your pocket is a MP5K.). Seriously! Has anyone heard of Privacy? Y'know, P.R.I.V.A.C.Y? XD

Have there been any terrorist attacks in Croatia?

Lizzie: Not me, luckily! Phew. Although you should seriously see what they do with the bags in Cairo Airport. THEY DESTROY THEM. We put my younger brother's buggy in the luggage and it came back to us in Cairo with two wheels missing.

Jeez, harsh. I fly a lot, and all I do is take off my shoes, get scanned with a metal detector or walk through a frame, which I'm pretty sure is another metal detector (hopefully). And my mom does wear whatever its called in English on her head, but they do pull her aside for the bracelets that won't come off, every time.

Yeah, we always loose luggage. We count ourselves lucky when we don't loose luggage, in fact. Last Christmas, when we were stuck in Frankfurt for 2 days, the last piece of luggage arrived the day we were supposed to fly back to Croatia XD Mom was furious. That's where all her cosmetics stuff was.

Oh, there's no snow in Croatia. We were in Frankfurt, trying to get a connecting flight to San Francisco. The one time it did snow heavily was 2 years ago, and it really snowed The streets and roofs were all white, and they actually stayed like that through the entire day Very Happy That's the biggest snowstorm we've ever had in 60 years. I asked my grandfather; he never remembers it snowing like this before. Of course, in Zagreb you get some snow, and up in the mountains, but Dubrovnik? Never. I mean, I was swimming in the sea this morning, and it's the end of September

That sounds awful. I think I saw it on the news once, but I've never actually experienced it. Never want to either. Nah, no terrorist attacks here.

They call it headscarf in English Smile

Here we only have to take off our shoes if there are heels Razz Although the rules are really strict. You can't bring liquids over 100 ml and they made SUCH A FUSS about all the medicines I brought when I went to Egypt (I was extremely sick the day we were leaving) and they were like - you have to put it in clear bottles, no water and stuff. No make up, no nail clippers, no deodorant and everything has to fit in a tiny sandwich bag Razz They were really strict with liquids because in '06 they discovered a plot to bomb transatlantic planes with liquid bombs.

Terrorist attacks - well at least plots and foiled ones - are so common. Apparently it was worse when The IRA were more active.
